Aztecs Color and Winter Guard is a diverse competitive and professional team that spins with the San Diego State University Marching Aztecs in the fall and competes as an Independent A team in local and national competitions in the spring. The winter guard is starting their fifth year at San Diego State University and are very excited to achieve even higher caliber than ever before with our increased numbers and support from the university. Recently, the Aztecs Color Guard spun in front of 48,000 people at the Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium as they cheered their team to victory! The last 2 years, Aztecs Winter Guard has received the bronze medal in the (WGASC) Winter Guard Association Southern California Championships and look to improve their strengths and technique even more this year. Aztecs Color and Winter Guard are deserving of the 500 dollar scholarship because we could use the money towards our trip to Dayton, Ohio when we compete against other Independent A guards in WGI World Championships. Our program depends on the dues of our members; therefore, this scholarship would lessen the financial hardship of our members and put us that much closer to doing our best in Dayton, Ohio come this April.
