Performing at the Dayton Championships is a color guard performer’s dream. When you see the crowd, the nerves wash over you, yet your body tingles with a buzz of excitement. Then, you set your equipment and take your opening pose. For the few seconds before you start, you think over your entire show, the nerves and excitement building. Then you hear it, the first note of your music plays and you are ready to be amazing. Any performance in Dayton is a performance of a lifetime.
At Chino High School in Chino, California, this is only
our third year in the Scholastic World Class. Last year, our team became finalists in Dayton for the first time. In previous years, Chino has been WGI 7-time Open Class Finalists and won bronze medal in Open Class in 2005. Being the captains of our team, we want the best for our members and we want everyone to experience the Dayton Arena.
Please help the Chino World guard travel to Dayton and have our performance of a lifetime. We would greatly appreciate being awarded the 2011 My Band Staff Scholarship. Thank you for your help and we can’t wait to see you this season.
